Been after one of these for ages, the new shape Merc C Class Sport 200 Kompresser.

Granted only a 2 litre, but it has a delicious supercharger! And trust me, floor it from a standing start and it makes a world of difference.

“Whats the differnce between a supercharge and a turbocharger?” I hear you ask, well I shall enlighten you ^_^

TURBOCHARGERS – Are as the name suggests turbines, two in fact bolted together in one unit. Basically Turbos require exhaust gases from the engine to operate. The force of the exhaust spins one of the turbines at up to 20,000 rpm which in turn spins the connecting turbine. The other turbine sucks in air and forces it into the engine aiding combustion and improve power and responce, espeically in diesesl.

The only down side to a Turbo is that there is usually a lag where the pressure of the exhaust is insufficent to spin the Turbo, therefore you only get boost above 2000 rpm on most engines. This most noticed when you try accelorating from a standing start.

SUPERCHARGERS – Basically do exactly the same job as a Turbo with one major difference. Instead of using the exhaust gas to spin it uses a belt directly driven from the engine.

The key advantage of this is that you are getting boost at any rpm, and absolutly no lag. This is noticable when accelorating from still also acceloration at mid range. Supercharges also compress air before pushing it into the engine, this provides more boost over Turbos.

Anywho, back to the Merc.

I’ve always liked Merc’s and their new range is no exception. The new C Class is a fantastic car to drive, though bigger than a Mondeo its surprisingly agile at speed . . . trust me I tested it.

And at only £23,000 for the base model, not bad price either.

Then the buggers go and change it all for the “NEW” Facebook!

Even though there has been fierce opposition to the new layout they still go ahead and and implement it. Why? What was wrong with the old layout, personally I think its more intuitive than the new one.

Suppose we’ll just have to try and get used to it, hopefully if enough people complain they’ll role it back to the old style.

The new Land Rover Freelander 2.

2.2 Tubro Diesel goodness with trick gearbox and staggered haldex four wheel drive system. Oddly though for a vehicle that weighs some 2 tons it don’t have shift and even more amazingly it returns almost 40mpg on motorways and well over 20mpg round town.

So all those 4×4 bashers out there, go fuck yourself ^_^

Granted the miles per gallon do drop a wee bit when you take it offroad . . . all the way down to 4mpg. However! I was taking up the side of a Scottish mountain up some almost impossible gradients. 

People say the Freelander is the baby of the Land Rover range, but by god it can do some incredible things. If you want a pretty dam well priced 4×4, £23,000, with every toy going and a kick ass surround sound system, you cant go wrong with one of these.

MySpace is ok, and so far from what I can see is Bebo. Their most nicely constructed and easy to work with, unlike Facebook.

I dont know what the designers where on when they came up with the frontend but bugger me is it messy.

The last one was back in 2001, a 3.8 on the Richer scale, this one felt stronger. Enough to shift some items off my shelves and sound car alarms.

Freaky!

You know its coming, everything goes dead silent outside, all the birds stop, its very very eerie.  And you hear this very distant rumble before everything just starts shaking basically ^_^

It really annoys me when people cant understand that 99.9% of all the images of so called “celebs” we see in the media are air brushed. These people for the most part are no better if not worse looking than anyone you’ll see on the street.

They have armies of makeup artists and trainers at their disposel as well as some talented photographers. But the real miracle works are the photoshoppers.

If there was any every doubt to just how much can be done with photoshopping this should prove once and for all nothing is impossible.

Such a shame, one of the few modern actors I really admired, especially as the role of the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie. I hate to suggest it was a drug related death but at the moment that seems the obvious cause.

Real pity, he’ll be missed -__-
